Sendai

Sendai's city center, about 7 miles inland, remained largely intact after the quake, but there was massive damage along the coast. Much of the airport, which is less than a mile from the water, was also destroyed.

Tesla Hyperloop Train Can Travel At 4000 mph

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has revealed more information on his top-secret Hyperloop, a vehicle he says will take passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco in a mere half hour.

The Tesla Motors co-founder called the fast train “a cross between a Concorde and a railgun and an air hockey table” at the D11 Conference earlier this year. The pneumatic tube train system will be “twice as fast as what an average aircraft can do.” Once constructed, the Hyperloop will leave as soon as passengers board as opposed to running on a strict schedule. The train will also be weather immune which might put a damper on some people who still enjoy the occasional snow day. Some are calling Musk’s idea pure insanity, but others including physicist Brian Dodson of Gizmag, are willing to give the Hyperloop a chance after examining all of its parts.

Dodson ruled out two theories that the Hyperloop will use a vacuum tunnel or a launch loop that accelerates vehicles electromagnetically along a cable system. Instead, he believes Musk’s proposal is actually “a pneumatic transport system that consists of a closed tube making loops between Los Angeles and San Francisco” according to Discovery News. English please? Essentially, passengers will ride in capsules within the tube similar to pneumatic tubes at bank drive-throughs. “Even if I’m sort of wrong about the economic assumptions behind the Hyperloop, it would still be a really fun ride,” Musk said at the conference. Alien Star Map Found In Kupang, Indonesia?

New photographs have emerged which apparently show Alien artifacts. The pictures released show two strange rocks fused together that contain strange symbols and carvings.

What's more extraordinary is that the rocks are engraved with a star map, very similar to the plaque that was designed by Carl Sagan and Frank Drake, and was placed on-board the Pioneer 10 probe, launched in 1972. The rocks also have a magnetic field, which seems to emanate from the rocks when they are near any electric or electronic apparatus, Did an Extraterrestrial explorer leave a calling card behind? As always you decide.

Sinkholes around the World

Photo from www.huffingtonpost.com

Here is a massive sinkhole from 2 years ago in Guatamala.

And this is a more recent event:

Since August 2012, a giant sinkhole belching oil and gas has been growing in Assumption Parish, Louisiana. Over 350 people have since been ordered to leave their homes. On August 21 2013, a further collapse at the edge of the hole caused a clump of trees to vanish in seconds.

A huge sinkhole caused a villa at a Central Florida resort to partially collapse, and another section of it to start sinking. The building was evacuated early Monday morning. (Aug. 12)

Two buildings in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou vanished into a sinkhole on Monday. China's state television reports no one was hurt in the collapse, but 300 local residents had to be evacuated. (Jan. 30)

A sinkhole on Chicago's Southeast Side swallowed three cars early Thursday morning and sent one person to the hospital.

A sinkhole swallowed three cars on Chicago's Southeast Side, WGN-TV reported early Thursday morning.

One person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, the Chicago Fire Department told the news station.

According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, the fire department responded around 5:30 a.m., and two cars were already inside the hole. A third one reportedly slid into it after crews arrived.

Do these things happen all the time and the internet lets us see them or are things getting bad? You decide.

Volkans' One Man Party

German authorities are investigating how a man was able to spend four hours having a one man party in his underpants on a military jet used by Government Officials.

We can't find a video for this story but most of our imaginations are so vivid that this is easy to imagine.

The 24-year-old entered the cockpit, pushed buttons randomly, deployed an emergency slide, and sprayed a fire extinguisher over the plush interior.

Police tried and failed to persuade the man to leave with a megaphone.

They found a bag with his identity documents and, allegedly*, ecstasy and marijuana near the aircraft.

The incident, at Cologne airport on 25 July, was brought to a close by a police dog biting the man in the leg.

The suspect, named only as "Volkan T", has been taken to a psychiatric institution.

He is reportedly a German bodybuilder of Turkish descent who was not previously known to police.

All hail Volkan. ;)

Nikola Tesla - The Greatest Mind Of All Time

Nikola Tesla's contributions to science and technology include the invention of radio, television, radio-astronomy, remote control and robotics, radar, medical x-ray and the wireless transmission of electricity. Many of Nikola Tesla's inventions were and in some cases still are considered too revolutionary by government agencies and the power brokers of the time and are discussed in detail in these videos.

Encyclopedia Britannica lists Nikola Tesla as one of the top ten most fascinating people in history. So why is he virtually unknown to the general public? These videos provide a penetrating study of the life and mind of a scientific superman who, against all odds, dedicated his life to the task of designing and improving technology for the service and advancement of humanity

Humanitarian and ecological disaster in West Papua

West Papua is one of the last great frontier wildernesses. Over 250 distinct indigenous communities live amongst spectacular rainforests, mountains and coral ecosystems. But all is not well on the world’s second largest island – which now serves as a backdrop to one of the most severely underreported conflicts in recent history. Officially a ‘special’ autonomous region of Indonesia, indigenous Papuans have been visciously fighting for independence since the 1960s, whilst big business and a ruthless Indonesian military seek to bolster their global economic standing by exploiting the territory’s immense reserve of natural resources.

Foreign journalists have been controversially banned from West Papua since 2004, so reporting on human rights abuses and environmental destruction has been severely limited. Yet Amnesty International estimates that between 100,000 and 400,000 Papuans have been killed since Indonesia took control of the territory in 1969. (reports by activists suggest a death toll higher than 500,000) West Papua remains a militarized zone, allowing the Indonesian army to reap enormous profits from lucrative agreements with timber, mining and palm oil companies, while ruthlessly suppressing local people. The resources flow out to markets in the US & Canada, Europe, Australia and China.

I traveled undercover to West Papua in June this year where I found desperately poor communities deep in the forest that had been coerced into selling their land for as little as US$1 a hectare. I flew over islands scarred by nickel mines, in what is the richest marine environment on the planet. We saw sediment flowing freely into coral reefs and visited communities in conflict, as nickel mining interests battle for concessions. We witnessed firsthand the outcomes of migration, from rampant prostitution in the industrial port of Sorong to evidence of an alarming AIDS epidemic.

Please share to inform others. If the mainstream media refuses to cover, we have have to be the real media and be the voice for the indigenous people who want nothing more than their homeland and life in dignity.

California Police Arrest Man for Video Recording, then Kill his Dog

The world is a large place. But be warned, there are some places like America... that you may not want to visit for your next vacation. Fiji is nice. So is East coast Mexico, India, Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Swizterland, Iceland, Netherlands, even the UK can sometimes be better. So, there are just a few ideas of places that are way better than this wild country. We know there is a lot of people in America and like all places there are good and bad people, but you will notice as time goes on... The police in America are the worst in the world. This is why we suggest not raising your children or going on vacation in America. ;) Until the people take the power back and fix the country. Just sayin...
