Exercise is top priority.

Food is 2nd.

It's not rocket science. Now that stuff is complicated.

  1. These are wonderful suggestions... but there is one thing I do not agree with, meat is NOT good for your body. It is terrible for your body and you absolutely do not need it.

    1. Thousands of years in human evolution led us to have teeth that are specifically designed for the job of cutting through and mashing up meat. Those aforementioned thousands of years of the human race evolving and eating meat you'd think we'd all have ended up dead long long ago if it was terrible for our bodies.

    2. Jep, also we wouldn't be so evolved. Eating meat gave us a new source of high energy, leading in bigger brain development.

So without meat eating, we'd still be more like apes ;)

    3. I felt upset to leave veganism behind and took some convincing. In the end, I thought I might as well give it a go. The first thing I ate as part of my new diet was ox liver, so I really threw myself in at the deep end. My mate said that it was like going from using no drugs to crack cocaine, but I wanted to test myself. I was a bit squeamish because you can’t pretend a liver is anything other than part of an animal. It freaked me out a bit but I got through it. The second thing I ate that day was a rare steak. That was when I had a transformative experience. It felt like my body was immediately telling me that was what I was supposed to be eating. It sounds really naff but that’s the nearest I can sum it up as. It was quite a profound thing, really. After 24 hours, I never had another IBS episode again. It went overnight.

After 17 years of having something you get used to it, you just think it’s always going to be with you, and then, suddenly, it’s not. I stopped filling my entire meals with carbohydrates – wheat, rice and potatoes – and introduced all meats, butter, cream, lard and goose fat. But it was pure food, nothing processed. And I thrived on it.

I dropped three and a half stone within the first six months. And it wasn’t just weight; what was really freaky about it was that I dropped loads of body fat, going from 28 per cent to 13-14 per cent. In fact, the entire composition of my body changed so I went from being apple-shaped to triangular. And this wasn’t doing a new fitness regime, it was just a change in diet. Even my cholesterol has gone down (on a high-fat animal diet full of cholesterol!) and is now 5.1. I stopped taking statins three years ago.

    4. Evoultion is on the other way: from omnivores (not carnivores) to vegan. People actually get sick and die for having poor diets that include meat. Just try eating meat after killing an animal by yourself and without cooking it and see how healthy you feel. Hunting must have been a very primitive emergency practice for food supply when nomad tribes needed extra food, or in times of scarcity due to climate conditions and stations. But when evolution came, better, healthier and more sustainable ways of feeding became available. Perhaps eating meat is just a tradition, passed down as any other primitive cultural traits still existing in our societies, but it does not, by any means, represent the peak of our evolutionary process, au contraire. More like apes? Just take a look at the smartest people on Earth, alive and death, and most are vegetarians, sure you know better than them. By the way, gorillas are vegan, please take a look at their teeth ;)

    5. The meat people consume now is pumped with hormones, antibiotics and arsenic. The FDA confirms arsenic added to poultry feed is found in their meat and passes to people. This builds over time and causes cancer, Not to mention the GMO corn cows eat that would kill them in 6 months if they were allowed to live that long anyways. As evolution continues we are able to see that meat is not necessary to be healthy. The meat industry causes more gas emission, toxic GMO farming, suffering animals and poisoning ourselves. There are better ways now.

    6. actually some years ago I had to kill a goat that was gona be eaten. I was very worried cause im used to only eating food from the supermarkets already prepared. Well after some detailed instructions(so goat would die fast) I slit its throat with 3 knife movements. Now im very squeamish and was scared but I did it, and sorry but it didn't feel Wrong, if anything it felt right and natural to me as I would be eating it after. Im not a phyco or a killer in any means im just someone that killed a goat we were all eating and it wasn't as ad as people make out. If I killed the goat for no reason (something I couldn't do) then id be a sick individual

    7. I am a meat eater because I have been trained by society to eat meat. I love my bacon sandwitch. But I would love to be a vegetarian but that wont happen. The reason I would like to be a vegetarian is simply through the information I have read on the net that the human body isn't actually well designed to eat meat its more akin to vegetation. But it'll never happen cause I lack the education, knowledge and experience of what's a good balanced diet with vegies. And of course im far to lazy to go put in the time and learning needed to find this out. ut make no doubt about it I wish I was a vegetarian at bith. This isn't ment to offend anyone just to tell you how I feel

    1. You clearly do not educate yourself. BTW. Steve Jobs. Devote Vegan his entire life died of pancreatic AND Liver cancer, the cancer was able to spread to the entire body because his immune system was weak. Every cell in your body requires amino acids and saturated fats you get from eating meat. without it you will become sick and diseased, you will lose skin elasticity and your hair.

    3. ERic thats a lie. meat protien (whey) causes cancer. the only vitamin that can break down meat protein is vitamin b17 which has been illegal in america since 1995.

the average time people live with pancreatic cancer is only a few months, steve jobs lived 9 years.

if he didn't go down the natural path he would have died years earlier then he did.

    4. plus your body cannot break down and absorb amino acids and fats from the meat...cooked food is death. just think of it like that.

    5. principled, moral eaters'll likely drop of the stress born from lofty idealism than their vegan/ vegetarian ways...

  3. If that were true then people would put babies on a vegetarian diet, but they don't because it's dangerous. Eat less food, and exercise more to be healthier...

    1. Please state facts to support your statement that a vegetarian diet for a baby is dangerous. Or before you loose your time, try instead searching for the opposite ;)

  4. I don't believe meat is bad for your body. It's a natural part of our original diet, a very big part. The issue with our society is the amount and type of meat we eat.

  5. Anything to distract you from what is Really going on in the world... Look at those two's Bodies... This is an ad. It is meant to either SELL something or Distract you from something. And to make you feel inferior.

    1. rely meat is a natural part of our original diet. I though and have read a lot of evidence that our ancestors the cavemen actually were more likely to be vegetarians but that's scientists making scientific theory's lol, I very much doubt you can say the first man ate meat or not. The fact our body's prefer vegetables says it all to me. After all would you really put petrol in your diesel car. And no im not a vegetarian im a meat eater. Scociety made me that way.

  6. Meat is 100% fine in fact we NEED to consume animal protein. The problem is most restaurants provide 3 or more times your normal serving. All you need is a small amount per meal. Eat in moderation and you'll be fine. Brooke, your method of proclaiming that meat is not good is plain wrong - you provided nothing to backup your false claims. Please don't spread lies.

    1. We don't NEED animal protein. That is the most stupid statement ever. First of all, our bodies make up the protein they need based on amino acids, which are ALL present in plant based food. YOU stop spreading ignorant myths. I have more than 12 years of research in nutrition, and you want to come up with your ignorance to make such a ridicule statement... please! It gets outrageous and irremediably irritating when one sees so much ignorance in the internet.

  7. So I guess we'll be putting wild animals on veg diets next since meat is so bad for you. Ridiculous!

  8. first off, the most important thing is not exercise.

food is the most important. i go to the gym once a month?

i have lost 45 lbs with food alone. minimal exercise.

if you rode an exercise bike for 2 minutes in 3 sets as hard and INTENSE as you could for say 30 seconds at a time you reduce the fat in your blood by 80%

exersize has nothing to do with loosing weight.

the biggest study of human health ever done concluded that if you eat meat you get cancer.

if you keep meat intake to under 5% of your daily intake the body has no growth in cancer cells, but even at 20% meat intake cancer begins to grow exponentially.

so if you work out and then drink whey protein, you are killing yourself, get protein from another source like, veggie protein, or rice protein.

i could go on for days about how i have lost weight with food.

organic raw oatmeal with raw honey and organic cinnamon with keep your insulin levels balanced all day. thats the easiest thing. i eat that in the morning and pizza at night with like veggie mac and cheese and i have lost 4 inches on my waste. you can eat whatever you want, you just have to make the choices healthier.

  9. You can get essential amino acids from hemp protein and quinoa. Also, with a variety of foods together, you can also obtain enough protein to sustain you on a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. The claim that a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle will kill you is completely false and unsubstantiated. It's all about the person's diet. You can eat potato chips all day and call yourself a vegan/vegetarian. Anything done wrongly will result with unfavorable consequences. If you get fat on a vegetarian/vegan diet, you are eating the wrong foods. One thing I will say about meet, with all of the steroids and antibiotics animals are being pumped with everyday, it stands to reason that meat eaters would be bigger and gain muscle faster. Everything, and I do mean everything, that animal eats is passed along to the human. So, with that said, pick your poison.

  10. Guess what people? There is science on both sides of the eating meat debate so you are just choosing what you want to believe. I have read both and you will never convince me a vegan diet is healthier. I believe in traditional nutrition. That is what our ancestors have been eating throughout most of human history. If you are saying people should eat grains in favor of meat then I suggest you do more research on grains and human health. If you want to risk your health based on a relatively new diet to humans fine but don't try to tell me it is superior.
