China Launching Gold Backed Global Currency.
China is recasting all of their gold reserves into small one kilo bars in order to issue a new “gold-backed” currency. Many say this will disrupt global trade and will eventually cause a collapse of the US dollar.

Also on this day in 1835, Andrew Jackson became the first U.S. president to be targeted by an assassin. The man attempted shooting him with 2 guns and both misfired, Andrew Jackson and Davy Crocket are reported to have then beat the man up.
